Watching Over Me

I saw you, standing in the pouring down rain, laughing

and inviting, as can be imagined

and I close by, begged danger

to keep its distance.

Unexpectedly you took me by the hand

Your touch freed me, helped me

To find peace, passion and to see the small

beauties in life again

I painted the picture in my mind

You and I, the perpetuity

shining through like a single

Bright star in the black of night

My heart, mind and soul intertwined as if

I were standing in a whirlwind

If my heart could break, your absence

Would cause it to shatter.

How fateful that your voice can reassure me

As I stand to protect you, realizing it

has always been you

watching over me.
