Would that I could

Would that I could be

dove taking wing to fly,

moon that watches night

stars in evening’s sky.

To be the sun with golden glow,

or clouds on waves of blue,

perhaps the rain from up above,

kissing only you

If only I were summer’s heat

Or fog that hovers sea.

Per chance I’d be a cool fall mist,

Or thunders ‘lectricity

I’d be snowflake in graceful fall,

or whisp’ring springtime breeze.

To touch your essence,

Your very soul…

Would that I could

Be all these.
