My Debut book of poetry

Out of the Weeds

I'm so happy to announce my first book of poetry, after 20 years of dreaming and writing. This has been a fantastic journey. Born in late February 2020 and ready for the world.  I am so excited to share it with you.

About:

A bouquet of poetry about surviving the never ending journey of self-acceptance, and learning self-care through writing.  An altar, to breathe; to feel connected; offering poetry as a way to create a smile, even if it is through pain. A book on how to bloom, move on, survive major depression, and enjoy love. Finally, a healing of the little girl within whom is a wild flower.

From one reader -- "this book has the power to enable readers to find and accept their own identities. Your book is a poetic role model of the healing power of great poetry." - Terri

You can purchase my book directly from me ($23.00 US) via Venmo which includes shipping.

It's is also available via this link Amazon Out of the Weeds

Anthologies

A Teenager's Guide to Feminism

This powerful debut anthology from Pear Shaped Press features contributions by feminists from all walks of life. What started out as an introductory book for teens, has morphed into a set of stories and sentiments about the continued search for gender equality through the ages. A Teenager's Guide to Feminism is aimed at helping today's youth navigate the necessary but sometimes controversial topics surrounding what it means to be a feminist or a woman in modern society. Essays, letters, and poems range in topic from things we wish we could go back to tell our teenage selves, hopes and dreams for the future, and things we would tell our mothers and the other strong women who shaped us. From discussions of the changing ideologies around what it means to identify as a woman, to sexuality, beauty standards, and self-expression in a post #metoo world, this book shares stories of all kinds of love, coming of age, resilience, admiration, determination and advice to carry on. Most of all, it's a book to be shared, designed to encourage readers to define their own ideas of feminism and the female experience in an ever-changing world.

Here is the link to order! As a reminder, 50% of all ebook sales will be donated to WriteGirl Los Angeles, a creative writing and mentoring organization that promotes creativity, critical thinking and leadership skills to empower teen girls.

My poem Lessons from Life is in this amazing collection.

Rebloom: An Anthology of Womxn's Resilience

Rebloom is an anthology of womxn’s poetry exploring the strength, resilience and empowerment that can be found in the lived experiences and stories told by womxn.

Throughout history, resilience has been one of womxn's most remarkable traits. When you see the word resilience, you can think of a patch of unkept land that has gone wild. It’s full of colorful wildflowers, an array of bugs, butterflies and bees congregate there. It’s self sufficient, taking what it needs from the world so that it. Just. Keeps. Growing. But here's the thing about that. This wilderness faces many threats. They come thick and fast - a rogue walker tramples on some of the flowers, a storm floods the soil, a frost chills the ground. These things are inevitable. Sometimes the effects are tiny, sometimes much more significant. And yet in this thriving wilderness, life always finds a way back. Blooms re flower, creatures keep coming back and the land, it continues to take what it needs.

It. Just. Keeps. Growing.

Point Positive Publishing believes that womxn have that same quality and we wanted to showcase that through this collection of poetry.

I have two poems in this amazing collection

2020 Winter Anthology: Healing Felines and Femmes by Other Women Worldly Press

We will not be silenced. We are not ashamed to be part of the feminine divine in a masculine world. No matter what 2020 dealt to our communities we stated strong. This anthology is a testament to empowered feminists of all kinds. Our voices yell out in rage against the toxic masculinity that caused the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, to burn. Our voices speak about carking for the sick during a global pandemic, our voices demand justice and healing after rape. As a community of lovely souls we channel healing and connection during one of the darkest year in history through the work in this anthology, Hear us and raise your heart and vibrations so 2021 will bring in the light.

I'm thrilled to have a poem published in this beautiful anthology.

My Poem "What's for Dinner" is on page 63.
